This application is for classes in English for youth ages 15-21 years old. Click here for the application in Spanish.

Applications must be submitted online only. We will not receive any documents through mail. Last day to submit your application will be Friday, July 6th, 2007.

The Training Program Committee will consider all applications and contact applicants. After submitting your application, Radio Arte will send you an e-mail confirming that we have received your application. The first group interview will be in conducted on July 16th and July 17th. Applicants who meet Radio Arte's criteria will be scheduled for an individual interview from July 23th through July 25th. The final selection will be announced on Radio Arte's website on July 27, 2007.

Orientation will be on Monday, August 6th at 4:30 pm. Classes start August 8th, 2007 and will take place Monday and Wednesday from 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm at Radio Arte's facilities located at 1401 W 18th St. Chicago, IL 60608.

Radio Arte provides this radio training program free of charge. However, there is a registration fee of $25 paid only after students are selected on 7/27/07. Also all students must purchase their own portable recording equipment which consists of the following:

  • Headphones
  • Minidisc Recorder or Portable Recorder
  • Portable Microphone
  • 1/4 adapter
  • 1/8 to 1/4 cable

  • Students can purchase the equipment on their own. As a non-profit radio station, Radio Arte is able to provide students with information about the equipment and tax-exempt vendors that WRTE employs.
